Why does it say “Trip Cancellation not selected” next to the benefit in the Policy Detail on my quote results?

Short Answer

Benefits such as Hurricane & Weather, Terrorism, Financial Default, Employment Layoff, Cancel For Medical Reasons, and Cancel For Work Reasons are Trip Cancellation benefits. In order for your policy to include coverage for these benefits, Trip Cancellation must be included on your quote.

Some benefits in the policy detail are specifically covered under Trip Cancellation, and will only apply if you choose to insure a trip cost for cancellation coverage. To include Trip Cancellation coverage on your quote, select ‘Edit my Quote’ in the ‘Your Quote’ box in the upper left hand corner of your quote results page. For the question ‘Should this quote include Trip Cancellation coverage?’ Select ‘Yes’, and enter your trip cost, then select ‘Quote Now.’

You can insure your prepaid and non-refundable trip costs. Trip Cancellation coverage provides reimbursement for your insured trip costs if you must cancel your trip due to a covered reason on the policy.
