Is there a network of providers?

Last Updated:

Short Answer:

Some travel insurance providers will have a specific network of healthcare providers, however, most travel insurance providers do not.

More Detail:

Most travel insurance providers do not require you to be treated by a specific network of providers. If there is not a specified accepted network for your policy, you can receive treatment from any licensed medical professional at your destination, as long as it is not a family member or traveling companion.

If your travel insurance provider does have a network of healthcare providers, this information will be in your policy certificate.

In an emergency situation, we recommend contacting your insurance provider’s 24 hour Emergency Assistance number, after contacting local emergency services. They will be able to assist you with every benefit on your plan, and help to coordinate treatment and expenses for you. This phone number will be at the top of your Squaremouth policy summary, and on your summary from your provider. You can also find emergency contact information for all providers on our site here: https://www.squaremouth.com/claims

This information can vary based on the travel insurance policy. Please review the policy certificate to verify coverage. If you have questions about a specific policy, please contact us directly at 800-240-0369. Our customer service representatives are available from 8am to 10pm ET seven days a week and are delighted to help!
