What do I include in my Trip Cost?

Last Updated:

Short Answer

Your trip cost can include any prepaid and non-refundable travel arrangements. You may choose to insure none, some, or all of your prepaid non-refundable travel expenses.

More Detail

You can insure all, some, or none of your prepaid and non-refundable trip costs. However, some benefits, including Pre-Existing Condition coverage and Cancel For Any Reason coverage, may require you to insure 100% of your prepaid and non-refundable trip costs.

If you have only paid for a portion of your trip, you may list only that amount at the time of purchase. The rest can be insured at a later date by contacting your travel insurance provider. Alternatively, the entire trip cost can be insured upfront, even if it hasn’t been paid in full yet.

Your trip cost can be increased up until the day before your departure. However, your trip cost can only be decreased within your policy’s Money Back Guarantee period.

Arrangements purchased with frequent flyer miles or reward points cannot be insured, however any out-of-pocket taxes or fees related to those miles or points can be insured.
