The recent news about Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) does not change the coverage available in the April Travel Protection travel insurance policies. Travelers needing to seek medical treatment during their trip due to MERS-CoV will be able to use the coverage the same way as any other medical situation. Even if the reported outbreak escalates, April Travel Protection does not have any restrictions for epidemics or pandemics, so medical expense coverage will remain the same. Travelers who want the choice to cancel due to concern that they may contract the virus during their trip should consider the cancel for any reason coverage available in the April Travel Protection Trip Cancellation or VIP plans.
