How to Get a Quote

If my traveling companion and I are citizens of different countries, can we be on the same policy?

Short Answer

Residency and citizenship of travelers may affect eligibility for certain policies. If you have different residencies or citizenships, we typically recommend purchasing separate policies.

More Detail

In general, travelers who have the same departure and return dates can be on the same policy. This includes travelers who depart from different locations, but leave home and return home on the same day.

Your eligibility for a policy also depends on your residency and citizenship. If your traveling companion has a different citizenship than you, we recommend generating a quote for both citizenships to confirm if the same policies are available. If the policies are available to both travelers then you may be on the same policy. If not, you would need to purchase two separate policies.

If you are residents of different countries, unfortunately, you are not eligible to be on the same policy and must purchase separate policies.

Some travel insurance policies also have specific requirements of who can be included on one policy. These requirements include things such as the travelers must be related or reside at the same address. If a policy you are comparing has a specific requirement, you will receive a pop-up notification before you are able to purchase the policy.

This information can vary based on the travel insurance policy. Please review the policy certificate to verify coverage.
